Audible.co.uk Three Peaks Challenge

Donation protected
A friend of Audible's , Eva Giles, passed away this year from a childhood cancer, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Gliomas (DIPG) . We are raising funds in her memory and to help other kids and their families suffering with childhood cancers.

An intrepid team from Audible.co.uk will  conquer the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis,  Scafell Pike,  and Snowdown,  inside 24 hours (or so).  All funds raised will go towards supporting children and families affected by and fighting pediatric brain cancer via a charity that was a great help to Eva and her family http://www.abbiesarmy.co.uk/

DIPG is an inoperable brainstem tumour that sits in the pons controlling breathing, swallowing, talking, and walking. In the UK it affects 30-40 children a year, usually aged 5-9. DIPG has a 0-1% survival rate, and median survival is 9 months after diagnosis. Treatment for DIPG has not progressed in the last 50 years due to lack of research funding.  Today there are a few doctors and researchers who are dedicating their careers to finding a cure.

Here's a piece in the Daily Mirror that Abby's Army managed to place to raise awareness of the disease. Eva's Mum and Dad  - Emma and Dean contributed to it, as a warning it is very tough read and has some distressing images.
