Aubra's transition to freedom

Donation protected
As many of you know, I've been playing ball out in San Quentin State Prison with inmates for a little while now.  The program has allowed us to build connections with brothers who are putting their best foot forward and doing all of the right things on 'the inside' in hopes of preparing themselves to do the same if granted the opportunity to venture outside of those prison walls.  As it turns out, one of those men, Aubra, has recently been released after serving 31 YEARS in lockdown.  Our glorious state system has placed him at a transitional home located in the middle of the most drug infested area in San Francisco, 'The Tenderloin'.  Couple that with the harsh reality of his family turning their back on him on account of his incarceration and it is clear why Aubra is in need of support.

A group of us on the team have rallied around him and are doing what we can to provide the social network and kinship that is needed, but there is still a financial burden that surpasses our ability to help individually.  It is no secret how expensive San Francisco is.  Although the state has lined him up with the potential to earn decent wages eventually, at the moment, he is in limbo while ironing out a laundry list of paperwork and logistics.  This ask is to help support Aubra during his transitional phase.  His needs are basic: food, clothing and transportation.  Despite his eagerness to earn a living for himself, that timetable remains unclear at the moment.  The hope is to close out this campaign in two weeks as to get him moving in a positive direction as soon as possible.

On a personal level, I see this as a golden opportunity to make a tangible difference in the life of a good-hearted man who is in a critical moment in his life.  With recidivism rates at an alarming 67.8% within 3 years of release, it is important for him to be welcomed back into society in a fashion that sets him up for success.  Posting and complaining about 'the system' can only go so far.  Action is needed and this is my attempt to rally efforts on behalf of a deserving man.

For those of you that are moved by the cause and donate, I extend to you a heart-felt thank you.  My hope is that what you put out comes back in ways only the Universe can orchestrate.  And for those who do not necessarily have the means to contribute, please give in an energetic fashion by keeping Aubra in your prayers or positive thoughts.
