Surviving Chronic Lyme & Med Bills

Drew and Jenna are in need of urgent, expensive medical treatment for Chronic Lyme Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Bartonella & Babesia.  We have not been able to find the proper treatment locally and are having to travel out of state to a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor). Recent medical complications require Drew to receive very specialized, and urgent treatment. After an exhausting and extensive search, we have finally found a qualified physician who has an opening. We feel like God has led us to the right physician. We need help with the cost of expensive medical treatment, airline tickets and other travel expenses, and out of town housing while in Colorado for treatment. We must travel from Alabama to Colorado for treatment every 2 months. That gets very expensive!

History:

Drew has been battling Chronic Lyme Disease since 2001, but was not properly diagnosed until 2011. Left untreated, Lyme Disease can turn into a very severe, sometimes deadly, chronic illness. After a decade of searching for the underlying cause of up to 50 symptoms, a diagnosis was finally established by clinical symptoms as well as a blood test (Western Blot). Chronic Lyme Disease is hard to uncover because of the disease's ability to imitate almost any serious disease. Diagnosis is also just the beginning of the road to recovery. Beating Chronic Lyme Disease takes specialized treatment for each individual case. It has been impossible to find proper treatment here at home in Alabama and Drew's health is deteriorating quickly. It has been a year since he has been able to receive treatment for Lyme Disease from a medical doctor. Drew has been on leave from his job since early 2014  and needs to continue receiving treatment. More importantly, he needs to recover his health for the sake of our 6 year old son Tucker.

Shortly after we were married, Jenna began to exhibit much of the same symptoms as Drew. Those symptoms have continued to get worse ever since. Since Drew recognized those symptoms, he became concerned and took Jenna to a physician. Jenna tested positive for the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease & has been diagnosed with multiple co-infections.

We currently have a 6th follow-up appointment in July in Colorado to evaluate our progress and change up our treatment protocol. We will have two doctors appointments and will see two specialist while there.
