Brave Project 2022 For the Massey Family

This year’s Brave Project beneficiary is the Massey Family; Kristephanie, Sophia, and Kade who tragically lost their husband / dad Steve in 2021. The Masseys have been a YPAC family since 2019 and are part of both the dance and music communities.

Kristephanie and Steve were high school sweethearts and built a beautiful family together. In 2019, Steve and Kristephanie heard the worst possible news when Steve was diagnosed with an incredibly rare form of cancer, Ewing Sarcoma. The family never wavered in their faith in God and Steve fought a 20 month heroic battle. Even through treatments, hospital stays, ER visits, and illness, Steve always did everything he could for his family as they were his everything. One of Steve’s biggest fears when he was diagnosed was that Sophia would have to stop dancing due to financial constraints. YPAC has been able to provide consistency for her and now her brother. YPAC is a place where they can be kids, a place where they are loved, and a place where they can be home away from home.

It’s our time as a community to come together and lift up Kristephanie, Sophia, and Kade and show them they are not alone. Steve always worried about his family being taken care of. The funds raised from the Brave Project will help them financially as they navigate through their first year without their Superman, and Kristephanie would like to put at least half of these funds away for the kids’ futures.
