ATX or Bust!

See those smiling faces up there? Those faces belong to my family - my boyfriend, myself, and our daughter. See those smiles? We have the same ones on our faces now that I received a phone call a few days ago that I, Lauren, had been offered a position in Austin, TX.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is probably the most exciting thing I've ever done (outside of give birth to my daughter)! I am amped to get there, and ready to start a new chapter of my life with my little family in the heart of Texas.

Now why am I writing this? Well, to move halfway across the country costs money. A lot of money. And, it takes a lot of time. I don't...have a lot of time, though. I need to start at my new job in June to maximize the amount of money that I can earn quickly, and to get health insurance coverage for myself and for my daughter on August 1st. That means that I need to purge my things, pack up what I need to take for myself and for my daughter, get my car serviced, and DRIVE from Maryland to Texas in order to be there to start work.

The thought of that is daunting, but it has to be done! How will the money that I am asking for be used? In a NUMBER of ways. Let me break it on down for you.

$2000 - Movers to move our things from Maryland to Texas
$200 - Full service to my car to be able to make the drive
$250 - Deposit for apartment
$800 - Prorated rent for June
$1000 - Rent for July
$1000 - Rent for August (I don't get my first full paycheck from my new job until the 5th of August, and rent is due on the 1st)
$240 - Cable and Internet in the apartment for 2 months
$350 - Utility bills in the apartment for 2 months
$350 - Initial trip to Costco to stock the apartment
$500 - Miscellaneous Bill Money (I am leaving my current job in the middle of a pay period, so I won't have a final full check. I will also start my new job halfway through the month, and the pay schedule is done monthly, so I will get a reduced check on July 5th, and I'll need money to cover the bills I have.)
$200 - Cost to transfer car and license from Maryland to Texas

(If you add this up, the total is $6890. I upped the donation requested amount to cover the fees that will be taken out by the site to process the transactions.)

Any additional money that I raise will be used to close out my photography business in the state of Maryland and to reopen it in the state of Texas. I'm determined to get my business back up off of the ground and running by this time in 2015!

Anything you can donate is greatly, truly, and deeply appreciated. My family and I are ecstatic to make this move, and are truly touched by any amount that you can spare to give us to make this dream become a reality. I love each and every one of you! :-)
