Atticus is just 4 years old and a good friend of my son Noah. I was lucky enough to meet Atticus and his mum, Emily, through our local post birth NCT (National Childbirth Trust) group. Since then, we, as a family, have grown close to Blaize (Dad), and Atticus' younger sister, Hemploe aged 2.

On the 1st July this year we received the devastating news that Atticus had roughly 12 months to live as he had been diagnosed with a very rare and incurable brain tumour called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Over the past few weeks Atticus has been in and out of hospital (UCHL-University College Hospital London). He has undergone treatment that no child should have to endure, in an attempt to reduce the pressure on his brain created by the tumour. Having completed today, a 6 week course of radiotherapy, Atticus has been discharged and allowed to return home to enjoy making memories with his friends and family, doing what 4 year old boys love to do best!

With no cure for this disease, I am attempting to run the 10mile Great South Run on October 21st to raise money for Atticus and his family, helping provide financial support over the coming months to concentrate on nothing other than giving Atticus quality time and experiences with his loved ones.

Secondly, I am raising money to support The Brain Tumour Charity.   The work the charity do is phenomenal and supporting them will assist with further medical research into these and other truly horrendous diseases

Any money raised shall be split equally between Atticus and The Brain Tumour Charity.
