Attacked by a Hawk

My name is Zane, and I have quite a story to tell!

I found myself living outside, just

my sister with me, and we were lucky enough to find a big deck to use as

shelter. It was attached to a house, and it was surrounded by wide open

fields and on one side a forest. There was quite a distance to travel

for little cats, and we knew to take shelter at dusk as that is when the

coyotes would come out of the woods. There is not much shelter in the

open fields, and it was quite frightening. When we popped our little

heads out from under the deck one day, two people were sitting

outside. They looked just as surprised as we were. Luckily they put

food and water out for us and we felt safe with them. However, that is

as far as it went. A few pets here and there, but we were not allowed in the

house, or to feel at home. Like most cats, we went out into the field

to hunt for mice - because that is what cats do - but it was not

a good idea. I was taken by surprise when I felt the piercing of my

back right side by the talons of a giant hawk. He was trying to carry me

away. He was going to eat me! I fought with all I had and had to avoid

his sharp beak, and his wings and feathers would create such a flurry of

feathers. It was so scary, and I don't know how I got away, I really don't;

but when my feet hit the ground I ran for my life. I finally made it

back to the deck and the people saw the damage to me. They called Pet

Patrol and soon I was in their care. I had three puncture holes in my

side from the hawk, a growth on my front toe and broken teeth. I am a mess. I am

lucky that I came to Pet Patrol, and I have gone to the vet once to have

my wounds cleaned and to have a good once over, but there is more. The growth

on my toe has to be removed, and it is growing by the day, so big that it

is overwhelming my toe, and I have to have it amputated. I need several

teeth removed so that I can eat properly. Right now I just try my best,

but I always drool into the food. My mouth really hurts. This is

where I cry for your help. I cried and screamed when the

hawk was attacking me, and no one could hear me, no one could help, but

now Pet Patrol has given me a voice, and I hope you hear my pleas so that

I can have the surgeries that I need. Please donate.
