Atsu Apedo - Memorial Fund

Atsu Apedo, a loving father of three and a devoted husband, went home to be with the Lord on 12/16/2017. He was 49 years old. As a pharmaceutical research scientist/chemist at Bristol-Myers Squibb, he aided in the discovery of various drug candidates. He was unexpectedly hospitalized on Thursday, December 7 and passed away 9 days later.

Sacrifice and service were the pillars of his life which exemplified the character of Christ, Whom he loved with all of his heart. He consistently put others before himself and his own needs, while simultaneously carving out time to care for his wife and spend quality time with his children.

He helped others in many ways: aiding his widowed neighbors in clearing snow and in the external care of their homes; caring for the members of Mosaic Baptist Church in whatever ways he saw that they had need; leading the St. Lawrence Rehab ministry in conducting services and visiting the patients;  leading the Friday Christian Group Fellowship; sharing the gospel at flea markets through the Seeker of Souls (soshope.org)  ministry and by leading a Bible study at his job.  His passion for Christ motivated his love for others, leading him to do Bible studies even when he lived in China. His Godly testimony has challenged all who knew him to live a selfless, Christ-like life. 

He is survived by his stay-at-home wife and three young children, who were homeschooled for many years. The money collected through this fund will go directly to Atsu's family to cover medical expenses, funeral costs and the immediate needs of the family.

Funeral services will begin Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Faith Baptist Church, 2111 Kuser Road, Hamilton, NJ.  It will be live streamed through the church's website: http://www.fbcchurch.org/video/


Interment will follow at Brainerd Cemetery in Cranbury, NJ.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017, from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at the Faith Baptist Church, Hamilton, NJ.
