<div><strong>HOW IT STARTED:</strong>

</div>

<div>Starting around October 2025 some really random and strange illness symptoms started arising and after 2 months of countless doctor visits, labs, scans, infusions, medications and a bone marrow biopsy - on December 8th 2025, there was finally a diagnosis of Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML). APML is a rare and aggressive subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) characterized by an overproduction of immature white blood cells in the bone marrow, often causing severe bleeding due to clotting issues. It's defined by a specific genetic translocation which makes it uniquely responsive to targeted therapies like All-Trans Retinoic Acid (ATRA) and Arsenic Trioxide (ATO), leading to dramatically improved outcomes, transforming it from a fatal disease to a highly curable one.

<div><strong>SARAH:</strong>

</div>

<div>If you know Sarah, you know she has one of the biggest hearts and always puts others (and animals) before herself. She is normally healthy; she works out regularly, meal preps, doesn't smoke or drink. Sarah loves her family so much and is an AMAZING momma to 10 year old Colton, 5 year old Olivia, sweet Charlie the Golden Retriever and rescue kitties Kramer and George. Sarah is a vivacious, funny, and deeply loved by so many.

<div>Sarah is my best friend who I met in preschool about 30 years ago. She is not only my best friend but she is the most selfless person I have ever met. She works full time at a law firm but ALWAYS makes time for the kids and even coaches their chosen sports. Something I admire about her is that she always has grace and forgiveness for others. She puts everyone before herself and her being in a hospital bed hours away from her kids and fur-babies is a nightmare for her.

<div><strong>THE ROAD AHEAD</strong>

</div>

<div>Sarah is in intensive in-patient treatment journey for a month (or longer) with both her partner, Tommy and her mom, Hannah by her bedside. Sarah works for an incredible law firm that has always supported her and continues to do so in this journey. Same with the medical group that Tommy works for - allowing him to be by her bedside. Sarah is blessed with a village but has already racked up some hefty bills (after insurance) leading up to the diagnosis. Specialists are expensive, some of her copays alone were $500-$750 per doctor and we still have a long road ahead as an in-patient with blood transfusions and intensive treatment. Then there is the mortgage, bills, and everything else.

<div><strong>HOW YOU CAN HELP</strong>

<div>Even if you can't donate; sharing this on social media, in group chats, or with friends is so very helpful! Donations are obviously helpful and we are so grateful for that. Also an option is giving blood at a local blood bank as Sarah is currently dependent on blood transfusions (as are many others) and giving blood is such a selfless thing to do. Words of encouragement are appreciated. Sarah is and has always been a fighter and a survivor but uplifting words are greatly appreciated. Lastly, prayer. We are asking any and all to pray and to pray hard.

<div>I pray for Sarah who seeks healing, strength, peace, and comfort as she battles leukemia. Surround her with your care, mend her body, and uplift her spirit and those around her. We believe in your power to heal, restore and place all our hopes into your undying love.  Jeremiah 30:17: "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD"

<div>I pray for all the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. Please give them the wisdom, strength, discernment, and capabilities to heal Sarah. Lord we thank you for the selfless humans who work in oncology as well as the entire medical field.

<div>I pray you put your hand upon Sarah and the whole hospital, cover them in the blood of Jesus and place a hedge of angels around them.
