<div>Projektet ”Störens återkomst” drivs av Sveriges sportfiske-och fiskevårdsförbund och syftar till att få tillbaka stören i Sverige.

<div>Atlantstör har funnits i Skandinavien sen istiden men dog ut på grund av överfiske och vattenkraftsutbygge i slutet av artonhundratalet. Nu är det dags att få den tillbaka!

<div>2024 var första gången som vi åter kunde släppa ut denna ikoniska fisk, och för att följa dem och veta hur det går för dem, behöver vi märka dem med akustisk telemetri. Det betyder att en liten sändare opereras in i magen på fisken. Dessa sändare kostar runt tusen kronor styck, men de gör att vi vet att den första omgången fiskar, 95 till antalet, mår bra och verkar trivas i sin nya hemmaflod Göta Älv och på kusten utanför.

<div>För en hundralapp kan vi köpa kirurgtråd och nål samt rengöringsmedel för märkning av fisk
</div>
<div>För en tusenlapp kan vi köpa en sändare till märkning av en fisk. Dessa är avgörande för att försöket skall fungera.
</div>
<div>För femtontusen kan vi köpa en mottagare och väsentligt öka utrymmet inom vilket vi kan höra fiskarna.
</div>
<div>Under 2025 avser vi att märka 100 fiskar akustiskt. Vi kommer att använda pengarna till inköp av telemetrisändare som alltså skall opereras in i störens bukhåla.

<div>This important project is run by a Swedish NGO and aims at restoring the population of sturgeons that once roamed the waters of Scandinavia. Due to overfishing and hydropower plants, the fish died out in the whole of Europe in early 1900-hundred. In Sweden, we have very recently got our very first fishes back. June 2024 we released 95 juvenile atlantic sturgeons in the river Göta Älv on the west coast of Sweden. They are all tagged with acoustic telemetry and hence have a transmittor surgically inserted in their body cavity. This is important in order to follow the animals to see how they are doing, where they go and also to learn more about their ecology and the river and coast they are inhibiting. The transmitters are expensive (ca 100 USD each) but the information they bring is valuable.

<div>For 10 USD we can buy surgical kit for the surgery when inserting the transmittor in the fish.
</div>
<div>For 100 USD we can buy one transmittor.
</div>
<div>For 600 USD we can buy one transmittor that can also tell how fast the fish has swum, and to what depth.
</div>
<div>For 1 500 USD we can buy a reciever that can hear the fish, and with this, we can greatly expand the area of where we can listen.
</div>
