Hey Everyone!
My Name is Athena and I am a 28-year-old transgender woman currently residing in Curry County Oregon. I have been in transition for a few years including social and medical (hormones). I would like for nothing more than to take the next step in my personal journey.
For me (because every trans person is different), that phase of transition is Facial Feminization Surgery. However, this can be a very costly step in becoming my true self. Now, this is not something I want to undertake for vanity, I truly believe that this is something I need to continue to grow as a person and become more comfortable in my own body.
I can't properly articulate what it is like to look into a mirror, see your reflection in a window, a pond, a loved one's glasses, and see nothing that resembles who you truly are. It's like seeing a ghost, someone who has long gone but is still there, who walks like you and talks like you but somehow just isn't you.
I am creating this Gofundmeto ask for your help because the cost is too great to for me to undertake alone. This campaign will be 100% for the cost of me having the surgery I need including, procedures, anesthesia, travel, and food & lodging (as I will be very far from home). Not one cent will be used for outfits or makeup or any other non-surgically necessary anything.
I will also be doing everything I can to save money myself and reduce the total of the campaign, including making handmade crafts and selling them and even collecting cans for every dime i can get!
