Athena’s Heart Surgery

This is my cousin's daughter named Althena Zapanta. Althena is a 10-month-old baby born in December 2019. They live in Malaybalay, Philippines. Althena looks so happy and healthy in the picture but in reality, she got a condition called Congenital Heart Disease Patent Dactus Arteriosous in short a hole in her heart when she was born.

Baby Althena often have the difficulty of breathing, her baby lips turn blue when she is having difficulty breathing and the baby is not growing properly. She is now 10 months old but only weighs 6.1 kg as of October. Unfortunately, they just recently detected the condition despite so many hospital check-ups.

Baby Althena will be needing surgery as a matter of urgency, however, in my country, nothing is free. The surgery alone will cost her 500,000peso equivalent to nearly £8000. My cousin work as a teacher but her fund for the surgery is not enough to cover the cost of the hospital bill.

My cousin is scared and feeling helpless what will happen to baby Athena if the surgery will be delayed due to the cost reason. I couldn't bear to see any baby in such a young age to suffer like this and I'm sure you all do. I can imagine the sadness and the pain my cousins, is going through right now as a mother. I am asking you, my friend, if you can help me to fund baby Althea’s Heart Surgery that would be the most wonderful gift she could have this Christmas and her first birthday this coming December. I and my family will be eternally grateful forever with your kind donation.

Thank you
