Historic 15 M Post Around The Bay

The historic 15 Mile post of the Hamilton Herald “Around The Bay Race” first held on Christmas Day 1894. has been moved and the information panel installed. The bench will be installed in the spring of 2020.

The Burlington Runners Club with the endorsement of the Heritage Committee of the City of Burlington is working to :
- Make the marker prominent on the Around The Bay race route.
- Provide historical information about the posts role in the oldest footrace in North America.
- Create a setting for the post that encourages people to stop and learn its history.
