Dear Bruce-Monroe family,
November and December bring our community together like no other months. We give thanks together, and we celebrate multiple holidays through art, song, and exploration.
This holiday season will be difficult for many of our families. Some may be faced with spending the holidays apart for the very first time. Some will be spending the holidays in temporary shelter. One family will be grieving the loss of a beloved family member and a longtime member of the BMPV community.
Ms. Taylor is the mother to three beautiful children, one who graduated BMPV, and two who still attend. As we gather around a table for Thanksgiving, we will spend time with loved ones and thinking about the ones who are missed - Ms. Taylor's children will particularly be thinking about the loss of their father who passed away a couple of weeks ago.
As you give thanks this week, please consider sharing a gift with those in our community experiencing hardship. The Bruce-Monroe PTU recently received a gift of $500 to support families in need. We are hoping to match or exceed that donation.
Funds raised will be used to meet the needs of families experiencing homelessness, personal loss, or mounting legal bills related to immigration status.
We wish your family joy, health, and safety this season. We are grateful you are part of our community.

Noviembre y diciembre unen a nuestra comunidad como ningunos otros meses. Damos gracias juntos y celebramos varias fiestas a través del arte, la música y la exploración.
Esta temporada de vacaciones será difícil para muchas de nuestras familias. Algunas familias tienen que pasar las vacaciones separadas por primera vez. Algunos pasarán las vacaciones en un refugio temporal. Una familia lamentará la pérdida de un familiar querido que fue parte de nuestra comunidad de BMPV por muchos años.
La Sra. Taylor es madre de tres hermosos hijos, uno que se graduó de BMPV y dos que aún asisten. Mientras nos reunimos alrededor de una mesa para el Día de Acción de Gracias, pasaremos tiempo con los seres queridos y pensaremos en los que no están allí: los hijos de la Sra. Taylor estarán pensando especialmente en la pérdida de su papá que falleció hace un par de semanas.
Mientras damos gracias esta semana, considere compartir un regalo con aquellos en nuestra comunidad que están pasando por tiempo difícil. La PTU de Bruce-Monroe recién recibió un regalo de $500 para apoyar a familias pasando una época difícil. Esperamos igualar o recaudar más que esa donación.
Los fondos recaudados se utilizarán para apoyar a las necesidades de las familias que están experimentando con falta de vivienda, pérdida personal o aumento de las facturas legales relacionadas con el estado migratorio personal.
