Asylum Seeker Family Assistance

In our small school community we have five asylum seeker families who are receiving no government assistance. In all there are 12 adults and 15 children. All have casual work but this is not enough to make ends meet. They are at real risk of homelessness. We are trying to assist them by finding ways to raise funds to pay rent. The total rent bill for these families is $1600 per week. $50 000 will enable us to keep a roof over these families heads for approx. 9 months. These families have rent due this week. So far we have managed to scrounge resources from all sorts of places but we will not be able to sustain this, which is why we need your help. Any amount you can spare will be most welcome and will assist us to let these families maintain dignity and pride throughout the process.
