Help Linda Defeat Breast Cancer

Those of you who know Linda Steber undoubtably know a few things: She shows a very sincere unconditional love, warmth, care, and kindness to everyone she meets. She’s likely made you laugh with her unique sense of humor (largely reminiscent of her mother’s) and she’s likely made you a delicious meal or baked good that you won’t forget (a skill inherited from her dad who owned and cooked at a restaurant). Without question, she’s made an impact on you or someone you know if you’re reading this. She doesn’t ask for things for herself, but she needs the help of her community now, so we want to ask for help on her behalf.

In 2013, our mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery and 6 weeks of radiation, she was cancer free.

Last week, we received the news that she has breast cancer again, unrelated to the first cancer.

Although there are many reasons to be optimistic, there are circumstances this time around that makes this diagnosis significantly more difficult as she faces another surgery and more radiation treatment.

Since our mom’s last (winning) battle with cancer, she and our step-dad Tom have started a bed and breakfast- The Astor House in Green Bay, WI.

To get the treatment she needs, and to take the time necessary to recover, they will need to operate on a very limited basis and close The Astor House for portions of time. With The Astor House being their only source of income as well as their home, this puts them in a difficult financial situation. This is magnified with the medical bills in their near future especially for a small business on the heels of Covid.
