Dearest Friends, Family, Curious Readers and Thoughtful Helpers,
Missy Montgomery is on all of our hearts and in all of our prayers. Those of us doing life with her want to support her the best we can. That being said, there are some needs that we can meet now to help give her time to spend with her loved ones. Please read on to learn more about Missy's story.
Missy was diagnosed in Fall of 2014 with stage 3, triple negative breast cancer. She then went through chemotherapy, had a bilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, and radiation. At the end of this first round of treatment the cancer was still present and was later found to be in regional lymph nodes. Since that time it has continued to spread. She sought alternative treatments which she is still undergoing. She also did another round of chemotherapy. At this point it has progressed to stage 4 and is now in her lungs and bones.
Through all of this she has been a beacon of light. Though there have been many moments that have seemed hopeless and many dark days she has chosen to trust God for her strength. Her slogan--A Steadfast Heart--comes from her source of strength, the Bible. She has fought for and chosen joy as she has walked this road and been an inspiration to many.
Those of us who are doing life with Missy want to provide support for her family. Currently, the best support we can offer is monetary. Missy and her family have to do quite a bit of traveling, cautious and specific grocery shopping and cooking and costly medications to keep healthy. All of these costs not only take away financial resources for her family, but steal the time she has available to spend with those she loves.
We are inviting you to join us in supporting her and her family. Our goal is to provide the funds it will require for her to complete the next rounds of her alternative therapy, which insurance does not cover. Please come alongside us as we help this family continue their fight against cancer.
