Extreme violence thrives in these environments, leaving highly vulnerable LGBTQIA+ people to live in hiding or flee for their lives.

The Funding Reality We Face

The funding environment for organisations like ours is incredibly challenging — especially for small, community-driven NGOs working on LGBTQIA+ issues in politically sensitive contexts.

At times, we feel like we're under attack. The current US administration is directly seeking to strangle funding to LGBTQIA+ communities. Meanwhile, many established donor countries are slashing aid and walking back from earlier commitments to inclusion, to LGBTQIA+ people, and to vulnerable communities generally.

Despite growing recognition of our work, we face a significant funding gap this year. Without urgent support, critical programmes supporting vulnerable communities could be scaled back. To keep going, we've already made personal sacrifices — including covering essential costs out of pocket just to ensure our advocacy reaches global decision-makers.
