Assistance with Burial Cost

Hello all,
On Saturday July 22nd at 8:30 AM, my father Richard Ruiz lost his long, difficult battle with leukemia. Although he has made sure my mother was taken care of after his passing, he was not able to finish all of his final preparations to help my mother cover these immediate expenses before we needed to rush him to the ER on Thursday.
Any and all contributions will go towards funeral costs and transport to his birthplace to be laid to rest next to his parents in Dallas, TX.
Although he is not my biological father, he came into our lives 25 years ago and stepped up to an extremely difficult role and did an amazing job. My mother had recently immigrated to the USA, a couple of years prior to their meeting, by herself with two small children, and basic English skills. He showed us unconditional love, supported any dreams I wanted to chase, and never treated my mother like anything less than a queen, which was all I ever wanted from him. He was an amazing man, a beloved veteran that served two tours in Vietnam, always a jokester and even into his last days in the hospital, still cracked jokes with everyone around. His final wishes were to make sure my mother is taken care of in all aspects and that she will be able to get all the help she needs, which I absolutely promised to him. She's my entire world.
We will be using services provided by Evergreen Funeral Home and the total cost of his funeral/burial was just over $5,000 with an additional $4,000 to transport and lay him next to his parents in Texas. I know this has left my mother in a bit of a bind with a lot of the bills becoming due shortly, so I will be taking care of them and gifting her back the majority of the costs personally, however (and I hate to ask) any assistance is gratefully appreciated. My mom is unaware that I am doing this, so I would love to keep this as a surprise.
I want to thank everyone for their words of comfort and support through this difficult time of ours. He is missed terribly and it breaks my heart to see my mom so torn, but I know he's looking out for us.
