Assistance for the Ambrosio Family

Hello friends and family,
As many of you know Ashley & Ashley Ambrosio are expecting twin boys in February 2021 and just purchased their first home.
At 20 weeks pregnant Ashley went for a routine checkup where she learned that her cervix was short, she was already 2cm dilated and the twins could come that day. Ashley was admitted to the hospital where she underwent surgery for an emergency cerclage-a stitch to keep the cervix from dilating further and keep the babies from coming too soon. A specialist for high risk pregnancies also revealed that the twins both have “velamentous cord insertion”, meaning that the umbilical cords are very weak and do not supply adequate blood supply to the babies. Ashley was sent home and put on moderate bed rest for two weeks and then returned to work on light duty.

On November 12th, at 26 weeks-Ashley was in the ER due to shortness of breath as a result of COVID. Lab work also showed that her and the babies were at risk for clotting due to the virus. She was sent home with this information and on November 24th, she was admitted to the hospital again for signs of preterm labor. Ashley’s cervix had dilated 3cm through the cerclage and she was experiencing contractions. Fortunately, the specialists were able to administer medication to stop preterm labor and give steroid shots to help the babies lungs develop further.
Early in the morning on November 27th, Baby A’s water broke while Ashley was on hospital bedrest. This condition is known as PPROM-Preterm premature rupture of the membranes is a pregnancy complication. In this condition, the sac surrounding your baby breaks before week 37 of pregnancy. Once the sac breaks, both mother and baby have an increased risk for infection. There is also a higher chance of babies being born early.

Ashley is on hospital bed rest with close monitoring until at least 34 weeks to ensure infection does not occur and the babies have more time to develop.

I’ve created this GoFundMe page to help Ashley and Ashley with the costs associated with unexpected hospital bed rest and definite NICU time that will keep Ashley out of work for the next few months.

Ashley and Ashley are the most caring and generous people and I am beyond grateful to have them as sisters. I would love to help by raising funds for them at this time. Thank you so much for any and all donations!
