Sue Williams needs our help!

Sue (Susie) Williams has spent her life working to help people get back on their feet after injury, disability, or illness. For the past 30 years Sue has worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and has helped countless people with disabilities find work and resources that allow them to thrive in daily life. She has inspired so many who felt hopeless and gave them the opportunity to take charge of their own lives despite their circumstance.

Unfortunately, she is now facing similar health issues and now needs our help to literally get back on her feet again so she can get back to doing the work she loves!  Sue hesitates to ask anyone for help and that’s why some of her friends and I have started this GoFundMe account to help cover some of the financial burdens this illness has caused.

Sue suffered complications from a routine surgery that led to a staph infection (resulting in sepsis) that nearly took her life.  She has been in the hospital/rehabilitation facility for over a month fighting through excruciating pain. She works daily in both physical and occupational therapy to regain the ability to walk and participate in activities of daily life. The rehabilitation facility is releasing her to go home on Saturday (which is much sooner than anticipated) and her house is not  yet accessible in her current condition which makes the urgency high.

As always, Sue is optimistic and has handled the situation with an incredible amount of positivity and grace. She continues to live selflessly (even in the face of pain). While trying to recover, she still worries about how this situation will impact others in her life and has even continued with some of her charity work and gifting to others!  That’s just what Sue does!

With that said, if we all pull together, we could make a great impact on her life as she works to regain her strength and mobility.  The costs she’s incurring (along with the loss of income) is daunting.

How will your contribution be used?

♥  Funds to help with hospital, rehabilitation, respite care, ambulance and transportation, and prescription expenses that aren’t covered by insurance
♥  A wheelchair and wheelchair access ramp.
♥  Material and labor required to make her house accessible including (but not limited to) a walk-in shower, elevated toilet, grab bars, potential widening of doorway, etc.
♥  Living expenses for lost wages during recovery
♥  Countless expenses she will incur due to her current situation

Thank you in advance for any help you can give…it will make a real difference for this lovely lady! ♥
