Assistance for Steve's Daughter

Steve Biem, a cherished member of our climbing community, friend and beloved father succumbed to high altitude pulmonary edema last week at Camp II after summitting Ama Dablam (Nepal) with his climbing team the day prior.
Steve built his life around climbing mountains both here at home and around the world. However, his greatest passion was not climbing mountains - it was raising and spending time with his daughter Jazz.
Jazz is an independent and strong young woman who just celebrated her 22nd birthday. For the past 3 years she has been a full-time college student while also working full time to help pay her tuition, rent and living expenses. Steve was always standing by to provide both financial and emotional support however, much like her father, Jazz is strong, well determined and generally feels best when she is taking responsibility for her own life. Jazz is a Certified Nursing Assistant and plans to begin full-time nursing school next month. The demands of that program will not allow her to continue working while she pursues this degree. At the young age of 22, she is head of her household that includes 3 dogs and 2 cats. Jazz shared her father’s appreciation for mountains and she likes snowboarding.
One the greatest ways we can honor Steve is to come together in support of his daughter. It is going to take many months for his estate to be sorted out. In addition to starting nursing school in January, Jazz has many other financial obligations she needs to meet. Please join us in helping raise some money so that we can at least take some of the immediate financial burden off of Jazz’s shoulders.
