Hurricane Ian Proved that when it rains it pours

Hi, my name is Martin,

I am here to speak on behalf of my Family.

I am here to speak for every victim that has been a part of Ian's

They just lost everything.

Literally.

My father is paralyzed, and speechless.

In early March of 2021, my father had a stroke as a professional truck driver. This stroke was caused by the high pressure of the transportation industry with the combination of pressure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a beloved father, husband, and soon-to-be grandfather. Since then he has been wheelchair bound, paralyzed, and unable to communicate. My family and I have been doing everything we could possibly do to support him. His progress has been slim to none and he is still unable to take care of himself.

September 28th, 2022

Hurricane Ian arrived and made landfall in Sarasota County, FL.

My father, as well as his caregiver, were in the middle of this catastrophic disaster.

Storm surges as well as high winds and rain brought life-threatening conditions.

To be short, the house is gone. Heavy winds have destroyed the building and it is no longer inhabitable. I am begging from every cell of my body, for every bit of assistance.

I have come to understand that I have no option and no alternative.

I cannot allow my family as well as others to remain homeless.
