<div>My mom, <strong>Rebecca Burgess-Rucker</strong>, passed away on September 29th, 2024, at Hospice within CAMC Memorial. She had been battling esophageal cancer that had metastasized to her lymph nodes and, unfortunately, lost her battle with her illness as the treatment caused DIC.

<div>She left behind her husband of 36 years, Larry (66 years old), her younger sister Beth Skiles, and her two daughters, Desirae Rucker (20 years old) and Brittne Rucker (32 years old). She went to Stonewall Jackson High School and graduated with the class of 1982.
