<div>Deborah (Debbie) Campbell is the most incredible woman you will ever meet. She is my Mama and the Mimi to my babies. Her and I have been best friends since the day I was born. She has always been my biggest advocate and my biggest cheerleader. She always stood by my side and loved me like no one ever will even when I didn’t deserve it. I am the most blessed woman on the planet to be able to call her my mother. She would do everything in her power to make sure I had whatever I needed and that’s what I’m going to do for her. My mother had a small skin cancer spot on her back removed in July of 2024, they said they got it all. They took her lymph nodes and said that everything was good and to get body checks every 3 months, which she did. On June 30th 2025 our world as we knew it turned upside down. My mother was airlifted to UVA she had a intracerebral hemorrhage and had a craniotomy on July 3rd for a hemorrhagic metastasis meaning that she had a baseball size melanoma tumor rupture causing a massive brain bleed (hemorrhagic stroke). She came out of the surgery with a left field cut and some left side deficit but she still was herself and had that fire. She left UVA and was admitted into Centra Acute Rehab. They would not allow her to do treatment which she needed for the remaining tumor tissue in her brain and she had spots on several organs she needed immunotherapy. Not being able to do her treatment caused it to grow back and the spots on her other organs to get worse. On August 18th she was rushed to the ER unresponsive and seizing, and was intubated for days. She finally was able to come home on August 29th until September 9 when she was rushed to Lynchburg General and then flown to UVA. Her original tumor had grown back even bigger than it was originally and caused an even bigger brain bleed. She decided to do another craniotomy on September 10th because she is and always will be the strongest person I’ve ever met. She came through it but not like the first time, she lost almost all function in her left side and was then bed bound. She still was fiery as ever and wanted to fight and did radiation for the lesions in her brain and did immunotherapy for the tumors in her liver, lungs, and neck. The initial prognosis was 6 months or less, when the PET scan results came back on October 17th she was given weeks. It has spread through her whole body and its in her bones. We came home and she still wanted to fight even though slowly declining, up until this past Saturday October 25th. She was rushed to Lynchburg General she had become very confused, was running a fever, and in excruciating pain. She had been septic from her weak immune system, the ER Doctor told me that she was very sick and may not make it out of the ER. But she being the fighter that she is made it to being admitted to ICU and came home Monday and is now on hospice. The hospice nurse told us today that she thinks that it could be this week, God only knows when it’s her time to go home. Unfortunately she doesn’t have life insurance and funeral arrangements are beyond expensive, I know that if I was in her shoes and she were in mine she would go above and beyond to make it happen for me. I’m asking if you could please donate and share this page it would mean the world to me and my family. She has been my entire world for 30 years and I have no idea how I’m going to do this. I feel so powerless, but I can do this for her and I’m going to do anything she needs me to do. It’s me and her against the world. I wish everyone could know the kind of person she was and is, there is no greater honor than being her daughter. Thank you in advance.
