Hey my name is Tim. I have been with Theresa Smith for 8 1/2 years. A few weeks ago I got a devastating phone call saying she was in the hospital. Her son had found her in the living room gasping for air. As he call 911, he started CPR and she was transported. After some test, it was determined that she had had a massive stroke on important part of her brain. This part of the brain controls most essential parts of her. She was put on a ventilator to help her breathe. She was unable to have voluntary movements. We were asked if we wanted to keep her on the ventilator or take her off. We have given it sometime and have decided to take her off. Now we are having to make her funeral arrangements when the time comes and trying to cover all of the hospital bills.

This has been a very hard decision for her family to make. She is only 55 and should have so many years ahead of her. Knowing that this is not the way she would want to live. She never wanted to be in a facility and she would have never wanted to be bedridden. She was a very adventurous person who love to always be on the move and helping others. She loved to work on cars, fishing, going tubing and spending hours at the river. She loved her family and friends; especially her sister. She is a devoted and loving person who would give anything to help another.
