<div>As most of you know, we lost our beautiful baby Alara almost 1 month ago On Tuesday the 11th, I went for a normal check-up where everything was looking good until she couldn't find a heartbeat. I was laying on the table in absolute shock. I didn't believe them. I said, 'No, not my baby. My baby is fine. Your machines aren't working right,' not allowing myself to hear those words. They sent me straight to the hospital for confirmation. My fiancé and I got there, and we still didn't believe what we were being told. I kept saying, 'What do you mean there's no heartbeat? I feel her moving in there. She's obviously fine!' Three ultrasounds later, my fiancé and I were devastated, listening and listening for a heartbeat that would never come. Still in shock, I'm told I feel movement because her body was floating around in my stomach for 3 to 7 days prior. It felt the same to me. Still in shock, we decided to induce the next day after going home to call family members and break the awful news. That night, I had test results that said our baby would be 4 lbs, different size arms and legs, and that she only grew to 29 weeks in the womb. I knew in my heart and body that wasn't true. I tried to tell the doctors and nurses she was a big baby; no one believed it. The day I got induced, they said she was only going to be 2 pounds. After I was 10 centimeters, they sat me up and said they'd let gravity do the job, and if I passed her, to call them. They left us in the room alone for almost an hour, expecting me to deliver her on my own. After an hour, I told them I needed the doctor and help, that she wasn't coming out without help. Even though I had an epidural, I could feel everything still. After 20 minutes of pushing, she was out. The moment they called over and said she's perfect, 7 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long, my fiancé and I just cried because we knew she was healthy, and they tried to say she wasn't. Nothing in this world prepares you to go through labor and not hear your baby cry after going through full labor. It took them 2 and a half hours to get the placenta out. It was actual torture. If you've ever experienced it, I'm so sorry for you! My blood pressure was extremely high during labor, then it dropped extremely low, and I wasn't in my body anymore. I was about to leave this earth and go be with my daughter. I looked over at my fiancé holding our first child together, and I decided to stay, to deal with the grief and loss with him instead of leaving him alone. He brought her to me. She was so cold already. Her little face was my face, her little nose was my nose. She was so perfect, my little mini-me. I cried out. I don't remember what I said; I just cried in agony. It is agony to hold a cold child that you prayed for, wanted so bad, carried for 9 months, loved more than you thought possible. They say having a child is your heart walking around, but my heart just stopped and hasn't restarted again. The next day, I went to see her in the cold room they have set up for deceased babies. Her color was already changing. We had to use blankets to cover places. I held it together. I needed that time with her. By the next day, the day we were discharged, we went to see her one last time. This time she was all the way blue—her face, her hands, everything was blue. These images and the trauma we went through will last our whole lives. We will never get over this. No one should have to see their beautiful baby girl like we did. I don't wish this on any person in the world. I've had a lot of complications and had to go to the doctor and another hospital since. My blood pressure hasn't gone down, and I don't expect it to anytime soon. As we try to figure out where to go from here, we can use some help.
