Assist Shelley and Danny Kay

Please allow me to tell you about my favorite sister- in- law Michelle (Shelley) Kay. She is the extra blessing I received the day I married her brother, Kim. Shelley has always been our guardian Angel and now it is our turn to be her angel.
Eric and Shelley have been married for nearly 25 years. Together they have raised their son, Danny. Eric had also taken care of his elderly neighbors for many years. As you know, Eric has spent the past ten years in constant pain and had difficulty getting around. He recently developed an infection that quickly spread through his system. Eric passed away on March 9th.
Like most households, Eric and Shelley were a two income family. Eric's passing has left Shelley and Danny with substantial financial burdens: mortgage, monthly obligations and now the unknown medical expenses. (The funeral expenses have been absorbed by the kindness of others.)
Shelley has given so much to so many children over the years. She has worked for 29 years in the Special Education Program as a teacher’s assistant helping children learn life skills in today’s world to the best of their abilities. She continues those services by assisting families during the week when a break is needed. She has taken care of sick children who have come to the U.S. for surgical procedures through the Healing the Children Organization. The children have stayed at their home for months at a time with Eric and Shelley absorbing the expenses. Shelley has given her time as a Girl Scout leader for over 25 years. It has always been about the children for Shelley.
