<div>On 7/16 at approximately 3:23 pm, my 2-year-old fell in a burn pit that had been burned the day before. He was not alone; there was myself and 3 other adults (his grandparent and one of their friends) and his 3 siblings. I immediately grabbed him and rushed him to the car, speeding with hazard lights on, on the phone with 911. We were met by the ambulance and taken to New Bern. Upon arrival, we found out it's 2nd-degree burns on his thighs and 3rd-degree burns on his hands. The closest burn unit out of the 2 is Chapel Hill. I rode with him, and dad got to us around 3:30 am after getting the other 3 settled in bed and taking the 3-hour drive to us. Everything has been great, but now dad has tried to head back home to make sure things are good with our kids and dogs. But he got 4 miles away from the hospital to a gas station, and the car will not turn over or go into neutral. He has had many, many people stop and try to jump him, but it just won’t turn. Called the insurance, and they said it will be $1,147.50 just to get the car back to Havelock. And then we still have to get the car looked at and worked on. In the process of all that, we will be needing to make weekly trips up here to Chapel Hill to make sure that he is healing properly and gaining full range of motion back. <strong>Thank you to everyone that takes the time to read this; even a share is appreciated to the max.</strong>
