Assist Matt Hoffman in Overcoming Fire and Injury

Story

Hello! I'm Laurie Schoebel and along with my niece Julie Gilbert, we are starting this GoFundMe for my nephew and Julie's brother, Matt Hoffman. Early in the morning of September 17th, Matt's garage caught fire and destroyed almost everything in it, including two cars, a snowblower, and many of the tools he uses for his job as an independent contractor. To make matters worse, as Matt ran to get a hose, he fell and broke his foot. As a contractor, losing tools will have enough of an impact on his ability to work, but breaking his foot will be a bigger challenge. Although insurance will cover some of the cost to repair/replace the garage and repair damage that was also done to the house and deck, it will not help make up lost wages until he is able to work again. We are asking for any help you may be able to provide to get him through this rough time. In addition to monetary help, we are reaching out to any friends and/or family that have worked in the trades and may have any old, unused tools that you would be willing to donate or sell at a reasonable price. This is a request for down the road when he has a better idea of what he lost, but we wanted to put it out there. .
