On Friday, June 30th, 2017 at about 2 p.m., Martin Padilla, a veteran of the United States Army, was shot and killed as he taught his eldest son how to drive at the Arizona Pavilions shopping mall in Tucson, Arizona.
His four children were in the vehicle as their father lay dying on the ground a short distance from where they sat, bleeding from a gunshot wound.
Martin was a veteran of the United States Army and a devoted father to his four children aged 3, 7, 12, and 15. He was a loving, committed husband, father and son.
His family and friends living across the US are suffering his loss.
The eldest child took his younger siblings into a nearby ice cream shop to await the arrival of their mother.
This fund will help with his burial costs and to ease the financial burden his family now faces.

My name is Maysam Eljerdi. I'm from Tucson, Arizona. My brothers, Malek & Sameh attended school with Martin and Yasmin's sons. My brother, Sameh, walked her youngest son to his school bus stop everyday for a year. He came to know him as a kind, funny, and gentle soul, a son who definitely took after his father.
My father, Houssam, told us of the friend Martin was, a man embodying kindness, truthfulness, and sincerity.
Martin's wife, Yasmin, is a friend to everyone who has the pleasure to meet her. Anyone who encounters her knows her to be a loving, strong, positive, funny, happy, and kind wife, mother and friend unlike any other. Her loss and that of her children cannot be overstated.
These funds will be used to support the family in the time to come. This includes, but is not limited to, funeral and household expenses.
