Hi, my name is Ivy. I'm creating this GoFundMe for my mom, Diana Blankenship. My Daddy (who was a vet) recently passed away. He was at home, which I praise God for. He was in his bed, and he was comfortable! We all knew he was sick, and we knew that this time would come eventually. We just weren't ready yet!! and it hit suddenly like a tornado! I'm just grateful that he's no longer suffering!

My mom and my dad were together for 54 years, married for 53 of them. They only had two children, my older sister and myself. My parents were both on social security and on fixed incomes. They had a little bit in savings, but with the cremation and services, it's just a lot on my mom on top of her already full plate. I'm just trying to raise some money to help my mom pay for the services and the cremation and have a little bit of leeway so she can grieve and not have to worry about where the money is going to come from!

My dad, Max, was an amazing man! He was a good dad; he provided and made sure we never went without! He was a hard worker, an honest man, and he taught me many valuable trades in life. He taught me manners and respect. He taught me how a man should love me and that I deserve the best. He was always supportive, always had my back, and was always faithful to my mother for 54 years! He taught me tough love, he taught me morals, and he taught me how to be confident. He has six grandchildren ranging in ages from 6 to 28. He will be missed very dearly; he already is!

My parents were good people. They did what they could for people; they've always been there in any way they could for all their friends, their family, and just people in general. My parents have good hearts and impeccable character.

We will not be holding a formal funeral ceremony. We will be having him cremated, and then we are going to celebrate his life with a large get-together for all of our friends, family, and anyone who's ever met my father. I guess what I'm asking for is just a little compassion. Every little bit helps. I just don't want my mom to put her grieving aside trying to worry about bills and funeral arrangements and cremations and everything that life is throwing at her right now.
