ASMR Phan - Family Fire Recovery Fund
Friends and Family!
On March 1st, 2019 at 10:30 AM our family home of 5 was caught in a house fire that had spread from our neighbors home. The fire initially started with their truck that was parked underneath their patio. The fire moved up & out engulfing their home along with ours. Situations like this shows how important it is to have homeowners insurance or even rental insurance. As we do have homeowners insurance it only covers the basic necessities. Our vehicle that was parked in the drive way was caught in the fire as well. We called our auto insurance the following day to put in a claim but they had told us we were no longer covered. The policy ended on Feb 25th. Our hearts sank when we heard this since we had no idea. We never got one notice, email or call. If we did get one and knew we would have resolved it. We take full responsibility for this and now are paying for it. They told us there was nothing they could do for us so our vehicle is a total loss along with the rest of the stuff the home insurance does not cover. We did go back to the house to see if there was anything left but unfortunately we were not able to retrieve any of our belongings. The house suffered extreme water and smoke damage from the fire.
We had so many people reaching out to us since the fire. Asking how they could help or if we had a gofundme account. Initially hubby and I told ourselves we didn't want one. When it comes down to asking for help from others we just don't know how to. Hubby and I have always been the "we can get through things ourselves no matter the situation" kind of people. We can't get ourselves to ask for help when we know we need it. Then when people offer we tend to reject it. It's something we both really need to work on. Anyways a few close friends of ours have been encouraging us to start this. I quote word for word "BUT, in situations like this will only do you guys good if you let people in...". Hubby and I debated back and forth and we both knew she was right. So here we are. We honestly don't know where to start or know what a reasonable goal is. The numbers will either decrease or increase as we will know more later down the road since we have never experienced a situation like this before. We know for sure that they said it will take at least 8-12 months before the house will be restored.
Here's a little about our family. We are a family of 5. We have an amazing 7 year old son named Owen and two beautiful twin 2 year old girls named Alex and Lexi. We run two family businesses out of our home which was all lost in the fire. Most people know me as ASMR Phan. I am a Youtuber who makes ASMR food videos. If you guys are here from my channel I want to say thank you for all of your love and support. Love you guys #PhanClub. Hubby and I have been married for 9 years. Both born and raised in Washington.
We want to thank each and everyone of you for everything you have done. Even with insurance, starting off from scratch is such an overwhelming process. Please feel free to share our link as any donation will help rebuild our family tremendously. I'll be posting on here as much as I can. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN
