<div>In February or 2022, I broke the phalanges, inside bones, of my right foot. I have been cursed with problem after problem, and I will share with you just some of the highlights. The initial breaks were misdiagnosed for several months. It wasn't until July that I was x-rayed. Then, a waiting game to get into the referral clinic. As I'm coming in for a December update on surgical status, the Dr I have been seeing leaves the practice and I get to reset the new patient time. The new Dr puts me on a May 2023 surgical date. That surgery happens, and fails. 8 week recovery becomes a 3 month process of infections, disintegrating bones, complications, sores. We try to salvage the foot, but it isn't a good prognosis. Disintegration is never a good prognosis. Complications lead to further complications, which lead to infections. This came to a head January 31st of this year. I was admitted to the ER, sepsis, fever, and in worse shape. The surgeons at this location do a surgery on the 9th to try a bone fusion. Biopsy of the bone shows it is infected too. I've taken all the pills, done my best to keep going. But, I'm not hopeful of winning the lottery.

<div>I've been unemployed since March of 2022. I've applied for SSA Disability, but the last official timeline is a waiting game until the end of this year for a hearing. My wife is working full time, doing her best to administer the antibiotic injections three times a day, and take care of my needs. But, we are tapped. We don't have savings anymore and are quickly getting credit card debts. We haven't had things repaired in a while. Oven is broken, kitchen faucet is running slow, wiring on the doorbell needs repairs, the garage door is broken. Not to mention we are waiting on the bills from a 2 week hospital stay. We aren't looking for luxuries. We are looking to get help to pay our bills, get some repairs, and stop the credit card debt from drowning us. Worse, we lose the home we have been in for 20 years. I was a front line service worker. If I was lucky, I would have been back to work a year ago. I'm not lucky. On the contrary, I've been extremely unlucky. One could even say cursed.

<div>I put a target of $10,000 as I'm not sure how often or how much funds will come in. More would be wonderful as we are sitting at more than that just in credit card debt. I won't lie and say once I get on disability I will be able to pay it forward/back. I don't know if I will be alive in a week with three different infections in my body, one being MRSA. I do know my wife needs help. Me posting this fundraiser is what I can contribute. Thank you
