My family and I need help due to my medical issues. Over the last 1.5 years, I have spent 45 days in the hospital and had nine surgeries. I have a major surgery coming up very soon that will have me out of work for an unknown amount of time. I am reaching out to friends and family for help because my ongoing health problems have caused me and my family to struggle financially and mentally. I am hoping to help lower the stress it has caused my family. Everyone has been behind me 100%, but things are running slim, and once my surgery happens, I will be unable to help in any way during my recovery period. Let me explain my medical journey from the beginning.

A 1,5 years ago, I went to the ER because I went blind in my left eye, and it started sinking into my socket. I was immediately admitted to the hospital because I showed severe bone loss in my eye and clear signs of infection. During my stay, I had more tests run than I could ever imagine, including two surgeries to get biopsies completed. I showed severe disease in my sinus area, mouth and skull. It was not far away from spreading to my brain. I had every type of doctor on my case trying to determine why this happened, but no one to come up with anything that was causing the damage. After two weeks in the hospital, I was sent home with medications, but the damage was so extreme I had many more tests needed. I lost my left eye, and the roof of my mouth was completely gone. So I could not talk and had difficulty eating because my face was one big hole. I don't want to be too graphic, but you could look into my mouth and see up into my nose. After that visit, I got a device made like a denture that would help cover the whole of my mouth; however, the damage was so bad they couldn't build it big enough to seal it all the way. So I have to stuff my nose with tissues to stop the air from out so you can understand me when I talk. After about six months home, I was admitted back into hospital because I was getting worse and damage was still happening. After another two-week stay and many surgeries, they finally came up with what was happening. My bones got a Fungal infection that deteriorated the bones. No one in the world had ever had this happen to them, so they didn't know to look for it. I am being documented in medical journals because I'm the first case recorded. I was then sent home on IV antibiotics and had to give myself meds through IV for two months while the doctors worked on a pill treatment option. Since then, I have been on my meds, and the damage has stopped, but the infection is still in my body. My jaw has locked up, so I am unable to eat much, so I now have a feeding tube because this had my body starving and malnourished. Once I gain weight, I will be having my extensive surgery, in which the doctors will completely rebuild my face and fix all the damage that has been done.
