Asking for $5 for family in need

Call for help! Do you have $5 to spare? As you know, I’m not usually one to reach out and ask for help, but my heart is very heavy today, as I received some very heartbreaking news about one of Mia’s schoolmates, and friends.
Two weeks ago, Mia’s friend, Lillie, lost her father unexpectedly. I just found out about this last night, as I was at a school event when Lillie told Mia “My dad just died”. I sought out the mother, whom is obviously devastated and trying her best to keep it together for her 4 children. I learned that this was a very sudden and unexpected passing. Mia has been friends with Lillie for 3 years now, and she is one of the sweetest little girls you would ever want to meet.
I don’t know the family well, but I do know they were living paycheck to paycheck, and found out last night that there was no life insurance, or funds to help support the family at this time. The mother did not ask for help, but it is obvious that help is needed. She has rent paid through the end of this month, and will then need to find a new place to live. They will likely be moving outstate, as she has no family or close friends to help support her. She really does need help at this extremely tragic time.
I know the holiday season is upon us, and it is a difficult time for many to donate, but I was hoping my friends and family could contribute just $5.00. This would make a huge difference in the life of this family and little girl. As I sit and think about this family, and the TRUE spirit of Christmas, I can’t think of a more rewarding gift to give.
