<div>Natürliche Feinde haben die über Frankreich und Belgien eingereisten Insekten bei uns nicht.

<div>Zur Aufzucht ihrer Brut benötigen sie bis zu 14kg heimische Insekten. Sie ernähren sich zu ca. 2/3 von Honigbienen und zu 1/3 von Wildbienen, Fliegen, Mücken und Käfern etc. 
</div>
<div>Diese wiederum sind die Hauptnahrung für Frösche, Igel, verschiedene Vogelarten und viele andere bei uns beheimatete Tiere. Die Nahrungsketten werden zerstört, und somit gerät die Artenvielfalt in Gefahr.

<div>Aber das ist nicht alles. Die gejagten Insekten sind allesamt Bestäuber unserer Nahrungsmittel, wie Obst, Gemüse, Raps. Ohne deren Bestäubungsleistung würden diese in Zukunft nur noch eingeschränkt oder gar nicht mehr zur Verfügung stehen.

<div>Als sofortige Rettungsmaßnahme müssen die Sekundärnester der Hornissen durch geschultes Fachpersonal entfernt werden.

<div>Behörden haben die Segel gestrichen, da die asiatische Hornisse in Deutschland nicht mehr als invasive, sondern als etablierte Art eingestuft wird – trotz ihrer bekannten fatalen Auswirkung auf unser heimisches Ökosystem.

<div>Die Entfernung eines Nestes kostet 350,- €. Im Herzogenrather Stadtgebiet sind uns bislang acht Fundorte bekannt. Allein für die Beseitigung dieser acht Nester werden also insgesamt 2.800,-€ benötigt.
