Our goal is US$4,500 ($6,500 Australian) to support 5-10 participants
In March 2020, a group of hosting practitioners will be gathering in Vietnam for a first-ever Asian Learning Village .
The purpose of this gathering is for Asian practitioners to be in community and in learning with each other and to build connection between Asian practitioners and the global Art of Hosting community.
As an invitation into the practice of community, one of the things we intend to practice is a different and more conscious relationship with money and all forms of contribution.
The economy of this village has been structured a bit differently than a typical training event. You can see the principles used in creating the economy for this gathering.
The participation fee has been set as low as possible to enable more people to participate. It includes no compensation or travel expenses for anyone including the hosting team and the hosts of learning tracks. Everyone in the village has been invited to contribute to an Abundance Fund which will be used to honor those who contribute to the village. You can do this upon registration or during the week we are together.
Even with the low participation fee of $125 (US) and inexpensive lodging starting at $9 per night, the cost of attending is beyond the capacity for some Asian practitioners making subsistence level income, in countries such as India. The minimal cost to participate for the week is estimated to be $550 to $800 including flights, food and lodging.
Participants have been encouraged to offer what they can and to ask for what they need in order to be able to participate. A fund has been created to provide the needed financial assistance meet these requests.
Help is needed from the global hosting community to provide the necessary funds. It is our goal to raise $4,500 which we hope will provide the needed support for between 5 and 10 participants. If more money is raised than what is needed to cover all of the requests for support, the excess will be added to the Abundance Fund.
Please consider supporting the fund as a gesture of support, and to show up in practicing community. We are thankful for ANY contributions, the aim is to show how incredible generous and supportive the wider community is.
We will send you our harvest (verbal and visual!) and we will also invite you to join the community call after the gathering.
With lots of gratitude and strong belief in our community,
The organizing team of the Asia Art of Hosting Learning Village
