Ashton United in the Community Van Fundraiser

Ashton United in the Community (AUITC) was established in 2015 and has since been contributing to the local community’s health and well-being. This has been done through a combination of food pantries, community events and distributing activity packs.
 
Ashton Under-Lyne is amongst the top 25 most deprived areas in England and there is a large number of people that require our support. 
 
To help the large number of deprived people in our community, several organisations (including AUITC) have come together to form the Smallshaw Hurst Community Action Group.
 
Since the formation in March 2020, we have helped over 200 families by distributing activity packs, along with distributing over 750 food packs.
 
Despite our wonderful work so far, we have discovered that there is greater demand than we are capable of delivering.
 
For us to help more people in the wider community, we are seeking funds to purchase a van.
 
A van can contribute to the charity’s work by helping us to provide much needed support to local people. Whether it is distributing more food or activity packs, more people will be helped by our charity.
 
Potential uses of the van include:
•          To pick up food from our provider which can allow us to put on more food   pantries
•          Distributing more food and activity packs to our local community
•          Transporting equipment to our pop-up events
•          Using for our recycling services
 
All donations will go directly to the charity where we hope to purchase a new Citroen Berlingo. Any additional funds will go towards maintenance/running costs.
