Ashton to Cleveland Clinic

Most of you know that my son, Ashton has Crohn’s disease for now the last 16 years and has fought the long battle of his health. He has had many years battling severe Crohn’s, and has had many good doctors that has helped him to live with this disease but as always, it has come back with a vengeance.
Having severe Crohn’s has many challenges like Obstructions, Scar tissue, Abscesses, Fistulas, Kidney Stones & Dehydration. It can also cause inflammation & swelling in his joints and eyes. Its very unpredictable and painful and YES, Ashton has had every one of these symptoms many times and some all at the same time, always hoping for remission.
During this long sickness he has missed out on things like good friends weddings, family gatherings, many Birthdays, all of the Holidays (at different times), jobs that he really loved, all of these because he was so ill and in the hospital. I would say in the last two years he’s been in the hospital 80% of the time, with all the things Crohn’s can be.
You know, severe Crohn’s can be both painful and debilitating, and sometimes may lead to life-threatening complications. Well, that’s where we are today! Ashton’s doctors have exhausted all medical options and they want him to move to Cleveland Clinic. The doctors would like him there by the end of September. They are trying to get Ashton well enough to travel.
His insurance will not cover all of his needs. This cost is way over his head and ours too. This is not easy for us, but being a mom I have to do whatever is necessary to help him, it is a last ditch effort for Ashton’s health and very urgent. We are asking you to please donate to this fund to get Ashton the help he desperately needs thru the Cleveland Clinic.
