Ashlyn’s Cancer Journey

Donation protected
The Prescription Place would like to share Ashlyn Lancer’s story with you. Ashlyn became a part of our work family in August 2020. Within the first week we could see that she was going to be an amazing addition. Unfortunately, Ashlyn began experiencing neck pain and developed a lump on her neck. She was rushed in for emergency surgery for a biopsy. She was also 19 weeks pregnant with her daughter! Quickly, Ashlyn was given the shocking news. At 25 years old, she was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Ashlyn started chemo at 23 weeks pregnant. She was able to complete 4 of 12 rounds before needing to stop so she could safely carry her daughter to term. After her six week postpartum check up she finish the other 8 rounds of chemo therapy and subsequently did 15 rounds of radiation. By August 2021, she was cancer free and in complete remission. We hoped this was the end of this terrible disease for Ashlyn. She was back at work with us and at home with her family where she belongs! Every three months she had to go back for a scan. The second check up showed three new spots. All of them, near vital organs and too small to biopsy without risk. They tried anyway, but sadly it was unsuccessful as anticipated. Ashlyn was determined to do everything she could to make sure her treatment was on track. She travel to UF to get a second opinion and agree on a treatment plan with her doctors. After many more scans in early in 2023, the doctors agreed to do another biopsy. The first attempt was not successful. Ashlyn kept positive and the second one was a success! The results were a reoccurrence of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma confirmed by both doctors. Her current treatment plan will include ICE chemotherapy, which requires isolation and a hospital stay. With a young daughter, I’m sure you can understand the toll this will take on them both as well as the financial strain. She will also travel to UF for follow ups and a stem cell transplant. We are sharing all of this in hopes that you can help support her in this time of need with prayer (the most needed and coveted) and/or monetarily. She is an amazing coworker, mother, and friend. She is strong and her sweet spirit is unmatched. We want to give others the opportunity to partner with us as we support Ashlyn and her family during this difficult time. All proceeds will go to paying bills and providing necessities.
