Ashley's Healing Village

Donation protected
Just two weeks before her first semester finals as a freshman at UIndy, Ashley was diagnosed with a form of Lymphoma known as Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. In Hodgkin's lymphoma, cells in the lymphatic system grow abnormally and, as the cancer progresses, it compromises the body's ability to fight infection.

Despite this devastating news, Ashley's endlessly positive, bright, hopeful spirit continues to shine forth. After finishing high school as an award-winning equestrian and receiving a scholarship for her outstanding academic achievements, she has made plans to extend her giving heart by studying to become a Physical Therapist. Even in the midst of her first college finals and preparations for a long road of chemo ahead, Ashley's excitement for learning, continuing her studies at UIndy, and giving back are palpable and inspiring to those whose lives she touches. She is an absolute warrior and is even surveying her options for continuing her studies while going through chemo! With your help, we can give Ashley and her family the needed support to allow her to fight this battle with cancer and continue pursuing her dreams of giving back to other people in need of healing in this world.

The medical team at UIndy has already miraculously gone above and beyond to prioritize Ashley's healing and get her treatment underway immediately, for which we are incredibly grateful. During the next several months of chemo, Ashley's mother, Alicia, will be traveling several hours from their hometown to the UIndy Hospital multiple times a month, which means many expenses in addition to the medical costs for the family. With these expenses accumulating, we are looking to prevent any more hardship on the family, as they have been dealing with a tremendous amount of stress and challenge over the past several years. As members of Ashley's Healing Village, we believe that we have the power to raise a substantial sum of money that will ensure that Ashley and her family are as comfortable as possible during her chemo treatment. Financial stress is the last thing this family needs during this time.

If you are not able to make a fiscal donation OR would graciously like to support in multiple ways, the family will also accept healthy, gluten-free meal donations, gas cards, hotel points, restaurant cards/points and more. To set any of these options up (or organize your own idea for how to support!), please reach out to Ashley's older cousin, Nicole: [email redacted]. It is our aim to relieve some of the burden on Alicia by allowing family members to field questions and handle this funding campaign.

On behalf of the Herndobler family, we thank you for your continued love, positivity, prayers, healing energy and support. With all of us reinforcing the brilliant,
vibrant & amazingly strong young woman that Ashley is, we know that we can be part of the village that helps usher her toward a cancer-free state of total health and well-being. Let’s collectively commit to seeing this outcome as already done and fighting like we mean it alongside Ashley and her family!

With Great Thanks,
The Herndobler Family
