So I battled with creating this GoFundMe account. It isn't really in me to ask for help. I feel like the best thing to do is tell as much of Ashley's story as I can. I have to leave some things out, for my daughter.. and for me.,, BUT I will be as transparent as possible.

The first week of February, my baby girl was admitted to Levines Children's hospital in Diabetic ketoacidosis. This is pretty serious, and a result of Ashley being a teen that sometimes just doesn't want to fight Diabetes as she should.

My hope was that she would get right out. She always gets right out. But this time, it just wasn't that simple.

A few days in, my baby girl started to give up. She started to hate Diabetes, she started to hate dealing with it, she started to hate missing school... and she felt like giving up. I felt helpless. Because of her depression, and her fight with Diabetes and it’s effects, Ashleys stay was extended.

Over 4 weeks went by. During this time I worked to keep Ashley in good spirits, maintain 2 jobs, and make sure that my other children were loved and provided for as well.

We were in the home stretch of an approval for transfer to a new center that would help Ashley maintain her diabetes and depression better..... when our lives changed.

4 weeks in to her hospital stay I received a call from a medical administrator that I thought was a bad dream. An incident, that happened to my little Ashley, had been reported.. and everything turned upside down. I can’t speak on the incident directly... only say that it is what nightmares are made of... and I pray my daughter will pull through it.

On that day I moved in to the hospital and only left her side to  get food. I stayed with Ashley until she was finally discharged... holding her hand and telling her it was going to be ok.

The day we were discharged.. we had many issues to still tackle.. but going to another hospital was no longer an option.

This brings us to now. Ashley is home... I am working... and it’s just our little family again. Although things have drastically changed. She’s home.

Shes not able to go to school yet, but we are hoping soon....

I am a single mother of 3. I am prideful... but know when it’s time to ask for help.

She has a large amount of meds.... most that were required to be filled before she left home. She starts therapy tomorrow and will be going frequently.

I had to leave my second job... keeping my first job is a blessing.

Ashley and I need help offsetting the medical expenses...  with missing work and the loss of my second job.. as well as the new meds.. and therapy sessions that won’t all be covered.

If you can help... Thank you.
