Hi All,
By now you may know that Ashley had an accident at a friend’s house two weeks ago where she tripped and landed in the firepit. This was one of those freak accidents that honestly could have happened to anyone!
She was helped out of the fire by friends but not before receiving 2nd and 3rd-degree burns on her shoulders, back, and the back of her legs.
Since then she has been in the Maine Medical burn unit. Last week she had skin graft surgery and has been dealing with unbearable pain since.
We are hoping she will be able to go home this coming week but is still facing a long road to recovery with physical therapy and nurse visits daily. She is also not sure how her injuries are going to impact her ability to work or when she might be able to serve again if that is possible.
With hospital bills piling up our family really wants Ashley to be able to focus on healing when she gets home and spending time with Ashton (and not worrying about finances).
If you can help out at all we would very much appreciate it!
Be Well,
Aunt Jess
PS- Thank you to those that have already given or reached out in other ways. It means a lot!
