Ashley Needs a Hand

Donation protected

Our amazing friend Ashley needs a little help. She’s been through so much the past few years and has a lot on her plate right now. She isn’t really able to work because of the neck injury she sustained from her ex-husband and we are just looking to lighten her load in whatever way we can so she can focus on herself and her kids and her health.

A little more info from me:

Ximena created this and there are no words for how in awe I am of having something like this created for me. As many of you know, I’ve had two spinal surgeries. Back in March, I fell and have had increased problems with pain and numbness since then. I have an appointment with a clinic September 3rd to discuss my options for injections, but my neurologist is concerned with this new onset of symptoms and I’ll likely need either a CT or MRI in the very near future.

I haven’t been able to work since the end of January. I spent the month of February and March out of work because my oldest, Micah, was diagnosed with severe PTSD and anxiety. He has had to be medicated and is thankfully now on 4 medicines and doing much better most days. Eli was also diagnosed with the same thing, but meds are not needed. I was diagnosed as well with the same in March, and thankfully, we are all in intense therapy. Then, the fall happened, which was minor, but did enough damage that getting out of bed most days results in a migraine.  The pain is from the front of my head, now down my left arm, in my ears (which I haven’t had since before the second surgery), and down to the bottom of my shoulder blades.

We are solely relying on John’s income, which unfortunately isn’t enough to sustain us. He works over 60 hours a week and has considered getting a second job, but he spends his weekend taking care of the yard and housework, since I’m very limited to even being able to do housework anymore. We’re selling off what we can to afford groceries and have cut every cost we possibly can.

I wasn’t expecting this to be created for me, but I am beyond thankful to even be thought of. Our April board has been so supportive of everything I’ve been through over the years, and some have even reached out just to check on me.  I can’t tell you how much that means to me.

This got way longer than I meant for it to, but I wanted to explain in a little more depth what’s going on with me and my family.
