Ashley Marie's medical fund

I can't tell the story of my situation without talking about my mom...Two days before my mom went on hospice, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  My sweet mom, my hero, and best friend, fought long and hard against cancer herself, and after nearly 3 year of fighting she lost her battle on July 14th. Now, only 11 days after the death of my mom, I will undergo a bilateral mastectomy to remove the cancer in my body.  Medical bills are already pouring in at an unsurmountable rate.

I remember seeing my mom graduate with her masters degree in 1991.  Since then it had been my dream to get a masters too, and I always expected my mom would be there to see me get that degree.  I have started my masters at Dallas Theological Seminary with the goal of becoming an LPC (licensed professional counselor) specializing in grief counseling.  My mom was so happy to see me start this program and she, like I, believed that grief counseling was my calling from the Lord. Besides the obvious of overcoming cancer and surviving to continue raising my two young children with my amazing husband, my ultimate goal is to continue school and move into the field of professional grief counseling to help others that have faced loss like I have.

Donations will help us cover the massive cost that comes with treating cancer and will enable me to get well. I am determined to beat this cancer so I can go back to school to prepare for what I believe is the Lord's work.
