Hi, my name is Trevor and I am running a campaign on behalf of my good friend Ashley Devine.
For anyone who doesn't know Ash he is one of the most honest kind hearted oka aussies you will ever meet.
He wears his heart on his sleeve and is not afraid to give anything a crack. Within the first minute of meeting Ash all these amazing attributes ring true, he loves a chat; "can tell a story" will offer anyone a helping hand and do anything for anyone anytime.
Ash is a man of many talents, surfing, spear fishing, motorbike riding, adventure, storytelling, sculpture but most of all is his art. Painting is Ash's talent that supersedes all, from a young age he could draw, sketch anything, mainly skulls abstract sketches, his talent lead him into the surfboard art industry, customising boards for the individual, flames, flowers, skulls, surf breaks and faces this gave him the opportunity to perfect his skills to mature to the amazing self taught artist he is today.
In his late 20's Ash started a family with Bonnie, the blessing of 1 child was not enough for them, the miracle of triplets was their destiny, and Kai, Sienna and Kiana were born. Now 14 years of age they too have picked up some of Ash’s talents. So with his now instant big family Ash had to down the brushes and jump on the tools, This is where I met him in his entirety, almost 8 years of 5 days a week 8 hrs a day rendering, along with many adventures and good times, I can honestly say that he is the most transparent, kind hearted human I have met.
So it is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes I write this story about my mate Gaz.
A couple of months ago Ash had finally got himself to the doctor to check his ears as he was losing hearing in 1 ear with ringing also signs were appearing in the other, I mean it made sense he was deaf, he could easily drown out a full room with his often dramatic stories he had a full pocket of.
On a closer inspection, scans on his ear the doctor spotted an aneurysm in his brain. This was much more critical then the hearing so ash was deferred to a brain specialist ASAP. The aneurysm was confirmed, the brain specialists have now determined that this is very much a potential life threatening situation, and after multiple meetings and potential operation scenarios the top brain surgeons in the world have formulated a way of trying to abate the aneurism. Although these procedures are life threatening in themselves the risk of the aneurysm popping is of a greater risk to Ash.
Ash is booked in to have this unique operation on Wednesday the 8th of November.
With a successful result Ash should be able to maintain a somewhat normal lifestyle, although somewhat normal isn't really his style his whole world will be flipped and he will have to nurture and reframe from many of the activities that he has enjoyed in the past.
In some ways this could be a blessing in disguise for such an incredibly talented person. This setback has given Ash no other choice but to get his brushes out and once again pursue his career in painting art. I believe if he pulls through this major procedure unscathed his future in this industry can flourish with a little help from his friends, family and fans. That is why I am creating this campaign for him. Being the selfless human that he is Ash is not to keen on the idea of putting his hand out,
I know that this money will go to good use as Ash is motivated to study the theory of Art and progress his skill to a higher level.
This money will help him get back on his feet and provide for his children’s life and education as they move through high school and university.
So I ask if anyone has been touched, inspired or would just like to help a good honest bloke please throw your money in the hat. Anything will help and I’m certain Ash would do the same for any of his friends.
