Harvey Help Ashley Molfino

The last text I received from my best friend was one word. One terrifying word. FLOODING. I knew that meant that the water from Harvey was no longer knocking on her front door, it had entered the house and was threatening everyone she loved.

I was in my car when the tears began rolling down my face. I was driving to bootcamp when the feeling of guilt and terror hit me.  I was safe and sound going about my day, working out, drinking my Starbucks and she was in Texas fighting to keep her head above water and keep her children safe.  The images we have all seen on the news are overhwelming, devestating and heartbreaking, and they take on a new meaning when you know someone who is living that nightmare.  It is such a helpess feeling and I knew I had to do something.

I have known Ashley since I was twelve. I am talking about 32 years of friendship.

Together we have survived bad haircuts, bad fashion,
bad boys, and bad cars. We were side by side during first loves and first heartbreaks. We cheered each other on
through grad school and law school when we both wanted to quit. We  have changed addresses more times than we can count. We planned our weddings, got drunk at each other's first weddings, spent hours on the phone during our divorces and laughed till we cried while comparing dating stories.

She was by my side during my darkest hour, she didnt hesitate to listen to me sob on the phone when Cooper died. She named her first born Jack Cooper after MY Cooper and my second born carries her maiden name, Chace.

She is my sister and I would do anything for her, which brings me here.  Ashley and her family are safe but they lost everything in the Harvey's fury. She and her husband are public servants. They work tirelessly every day to keep their community safe. I know as soon the Beaumont reopens they will be back to work, serving the community they call home.  They are one of MANY families that are trying to rebuild, but I want to do what I can to lift them up.

I know many people want to help. Here is someone you can help, who makes a difference in people's lives each and every day. Will you please help make a difference in theirs?
