Asher's Army

My grandson, Asher Michael, was born on October 4th, 2017. On the morning of October 6th, Asher stopped breathing. He was resuscitated and transported to WVU Children's Hospital where he was admitted to the NICU in critical condition. He is showing encouraging progress, but it is and will continue to be a long slow road. Many do not realize that if you live within 50 miles of a Ronald McDonald house, you are not eligible to stay there - and this is the case for Asher's parents. It's very hard to ask for help. but this is bigger than we can handle on our own. Between myself and two awesome friends, we kept Mike and Jenny in a hotel for the first week. But funds are not unlimited - they need to be nearby to visit Asher often, and to do that they need lodging, transportation and some food. We have bus schedules to Morgantown, and the Family Resource Center ( a new endeavor by the Hostetler family) is helping with some cafeteria vouchers and some small lodging discounts. These funds, if you can help, will only be used for lodging, transportation, and food. I will disburse all funds and will keep a detailed accounting of them for anyone who wants to know how their donation is helping. If you cannot help, we understand - just say an extra prayer or send some extra love our way, we sure appreciate it.
