Asher Marion Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Baby Asher was born on July 16th, 2020 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.  Prior to his birth, doctors informed Garrett and Alyssa that Asher had  Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS), in other words, Asher didn’t have a right ventricle.  Along with this finding, it was also determined that he had a smaller than normal pulmonary valve with a hole between his left and right ventricles.  Alyssa and Garrett were then told that Asher would have to undergo 3 different open-heart surgeries, the first would take place less than a week after he was born.

Over the past three months Asher has endured 6 days in the NICU, 76 days in the PICU, 10 days in the IMU, 1 open heart surgery, 1 heart catherization, 1 contrast enema, 1 colon resection, 3 bouts of Necrotizing Enterocolitis, 6 intubations - totaling 14 days , 6 picc lines - two surgically placed, 9 echocardiograms, 103 xrays and ultrasounds, 87 days on IV drips, 400 blood draws, 11 blood transfusions, 70 days of IV liquid nutrition, WEEKS of drug withdrawals, and 100+ therapy sessions.

In spite of all these life-threatening challenges, Asher beat the odds, and on October 16th, Garrett and Alyssa were finally able to welcome Asher to his own home in Roanoke, Va.  With that said, Asher will still have to undergo two additional heart surgeries-one of which is taking place in early 2021.

As a Stryker family, we would love to show our support in as many ways as possible, and feel that this gofundme page is a great starting point.  Please consider donating to this amazing family.
